Be Not Deceived
“Especially in the last times the lying spirit appears and works under such raiment of light
that it only with difficulty will be recognized as the devil; and without a most
scrutinizing examination it cannot be distinguished from the true Spirit of God, so that
(if it were possible) even the elect could not help being seduced into the error of quitting
the simple, straight way of God to eternal life (II Corinthians 11). Since servants of
Satan so deceptively disguise themselves (as servants of Christ and preachers of
righteousness) that men of the world vow it is the right spirit and the true gospel of
Christ, the world approvingly sides with them and continues in sin and unrighteousness.
Yes, even believers will be deceived should they not be sober and not watch and pray.”
